About the Dominica National Internet Exchange (DANIX)
Three (3) local Internet Service Providers have teamed up with the National Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (NTRC) and US-based Packet Clearing House to launch the Dominica National Internet Exchange Point (DANIX). DANIX is the governing body that manages the Internet Exchange Point (IXP) in Dominica. The IXP came online in November 2012 with a formal launch on February 28th, 2013. The IXP is located at the NTRC’s headquarters on Roseau.
Funding for the establishment of the IXP was made possible by the Universal Service Fund, with the ISP providing the necessary infrastructure.
Other proud benefactors of DANIX are the Ross University School of Medicine and the Dot DM Corporation.
What is DANIX Inc. legal status?
DANIX Inc. was incorporated under the Companies Act of Dominica on September 21st, 2013 with the following members as Directors of the corporation:- FLOW (formerly LIME); Marpin 2k4 Ltd ; DigicelPlay (formerly SAT Telecommunications) and the National Telecommunications Regulatory Commission.
